spring break is upon us

Today is the first day of spring break in our homeschool and I am so relieved.  I'm ready to kick back and relax a bit.  I think Alex is, too.  We have one day left to our Pirate Diaries unit that we will squeeze in at some point this week, but other than that, we're just going to play. 

One thing I am really looking forward to this next week is a trip to Busch Gardens, in Williamsburg, VA.  Alex has been before, but Katie has not.  Busch Gardens, VA has a kids area featuring Elmo and Friends, which she will LOVE!  We're even going to have lunch with Elmo while we're there. 

I'm keeping the trip a secret from the kids, primarily because we're going to choose the day for our visit based on the weather.  But, really, even I can't wait!  I haven't been to Busch Gardens since I was Alex's age, but the park itself seemed beautiful. 

Other spring break activities include decorating eggs, lunch at the park, working on getting our garden ready for our seedlings, and kicking back and relaxing.  Oh, the joy of warm weather and good times!
