mortified mama week two

If you enjoy what you find here, be sure to subscribe or become a follower, so you can keep up with all my bloggy goodness.

After a week of slightly changing my habits, I am feeling pretty good. I only planned to drink 3 glasses of water a day, and I hit that goal most days of the week. For someone who doesn't enjoy drinking water and won't flavor it with those nasty powders, that's an accomplishment.

When I stepped on the scale this morning, I was down three pounds from last week. Yay! What a great result for such a little change.

How did I do it? I'll be honest, it wasn't just the water. As I suspected, the small goal that I set made me more aware of the other things I was eating and drinking. I chose to consume more fruits and vegetables, for instance. I ate fewer processed snacks, also. Yet, it all required very little effort because I was only urging myself to drink three glasses a day.

For the next week, I will build upon my baby steps. I plan to increase my water intake to five glasses a day, and I will also make an effort to exercise for thirty minutes three times this week.

Are you working on weight loss goals?  What is your favorite exercise?  How do you stay motivated in bad weather?

Weight loss Stats:

  1. Congrats Lindsey!!! Very awesome. I'm sure the water drinking did lead you to subconsciously do better- I find when I've got a goal if I start small like that it helps to get me to do more too!

In terms of water, this is kind of insane, but works for me- I do love water, but find it's hard for me to remember to stop and drink throughout the day. So here's what I do- I fill a nalgene right in the am (which covers 3 glasses right there) and just pound as much as I can right away. I make it a goal to drink a full one before noon which actually works out well- if every time you sip you just take a few chugs. It gets to the point where you just don't think about it.

    Good luck!

  3. Following you! Water is very important aspect of weightloss. I myself drink about 40 ounces almost every day!
I am a firm believer of taking baby steps! After the birth of my second child, I was back to pre-prego weight by her first birthday! I had my third about 8 months ago and am looking to get down to my pre-pre pregnancy weight of 125! Don't fret, I am 5' 2"- and that is considered a weight good for me. Anything less than that and I have to kill myself to stay there!
My goal this week is to improve my exercise and fitness levels- and my families! It's hard with a baby! I look forward to hearing more of your success- keep it up ;-) www.classifiedmom.com
